Also, there might be one thing that is not clear when looking at the slides; During classtime, I was going to explain the symbolism behind the tree in Slide 3. This, as many of you already may know, is a picture of the tree that the kids and volunteers put together at Our Next Generation in November. The kids were asked to write down what they are thankful for on the leaves in order to create a "thankful tree." This tree, I believe, is the true symbol of Our Next Generation because it is the ultimate sign of togetherness and hope. It is the sign of togetherness because it was created by everyone at the organization. Trees are often thought to be symbol that link together the worlds, heaven to hell, in religion. In this case, the tree linked together people of different ages, color, desires, etc., towards a common goal- to put together a project. Additionally, it is a symbol of hope because many of the things the children and volunteers were thankful for included the organization (ONG), their families, and the help they receive from either structure. In all, the organization and families, both part of the same community, work together in order to bring hope to the pupils who attend Our Next Generation, through help.
